After my research on teaser trailers:
After doing this research for these particular trailers, i now know some conventions which tend to be used:
- Most teaser trailers are about 30 seconds to a minute long.
- Usually there are lots of fast transitions.
- there are usually shots that might make the audience jump - Most horror fans like the adrenaline rush.
- Sometimes CGI footage.
- Little indication of the direction of the plot line.
- Some horror trailers use slow downed footage.
- Most horror films tend to be certificate 15 or 18 due to violence, language or gore.
- Due to trailers usually being showed on television, they have to be suitable for children to watch.
- To let the audience know that the trailer is suitable for children to watch, this picture is shown at the beginning of the trailer:
Due to these being common conventions, i will try and incorporate them in to my trailer.
