How i made the film poster

The process of making my film poster:

1. Choosing the background:
After the research into film posters, the background should be a photography. The next step was to decide what photo to use. I managed to narrow it down to these two:

- I thought this would be quite a good photo, as it has two of the five main characters in it.
- Although i do feel that there isn't much space to put text without getting in the way of the people in the photograph.

- I thought this would be a good photo to use as there is a lot of space that could be used to place the text.
- Also, i feel that this photo goes well with the theme of the film.

I have therefore decided to choose the second photo as the background for my film poster.

2. Choosing the fonts:

With the experience of using unusual fonts in my AS coursework, i used the same website to find the right font for my poster. I used 'dafont.com'.

After searching through many different fonts, i have decided to use this font:

Although, to fit in with the picture i chose, i decided to change the colour of the font. This is what the finished font looks like.

This font was also used for the 'Summer 2010'.

The rest of the text on the page is 'times new Roman' which is a commonly used font on MicroSoft Word. I chose this font as it is easy to read and doesn't take up to much space on the poster.

3. Choosing what information should go on the poster:

After looking at other film posters, i decided to leave my film poster quite bare. I decided to only have the name of the film, the release season, the tagline and the website of the film. This way if the audience are interested in what they see, then they can log onto the website to find out more information on the film.

4. Choosing the tagline for the film poster:
After a lot of thought i have chosen to use the tagline 'Life is in their hands --death is on their minds.'
